The Moagu install file (about 17 MB in size) can be downloaded from the following sites:
Windows XP:
Windows Vista:
Moagu will only run correctly if installed in the default “C:\Program Files\Moagu” directory on a computer where Windows is installed on the C-drive; this is the overwhelming majority of all computers running Windows. If you’re not sure, be sure to try it in demo mode before purchase.
Note: Before installing Moagu, you should also download and install the free version of the Garmin map compiler cgpsmapper; Moagu won’t run unless this program is already installed on your computer. Make sure you click on the link “Free cGPSmapper version 0098c for Windows“; this is the install program. The “Download exe only” link is not the full install program.
Some people have reported problems with version 0098c of cgpsmapper that causes no map to be created when you compile a map in Moagu; if you have this problem, download and install this older version of cgspmapper (0096). If you use MapSet Toolkit to install Moagu maps in MapSource, you’ll need the older 1.50 version of MapSet Toolkit as well; the newest one (1.62) doesn’t work with older cgpsmapper versions.
Moagu installs in demo mode, which has the following limitations:
- Maps will cover at most one small image tile (about one-square mile at the highest zoom level, two square miles at the lowest zoom).
- A festive red border will be added to the edge of the image tile.
- A pop-up will appear every time you start the program, reminding you of its unregistered demo status.
- BMaP2MP maps can’t be tiled, and use only the central 500 x 500 pixel area of a map
- The unregistered status will be indicated by a message at the bottom.
The help file is accessible from both the Start Menu, and the program itself; you can also download the help file by itself from this link.
System requirements:
- Windows XP or Vista
- At least 512 MB of RAM; more is preferable, especially for large images
- 1.6 GHz or faster Pentium; Dual-core or quad-core preferred
- 42 MB free disk space for installation.
If you plan to use the BMap2MP utility, you’ll need to download it at this link, and uncompress it into the bmap2mp subdirectory of the Moagu program directory. It’s in the rar compression format; if your unzip utility doesn’t support this format, try 7-Zip.

Buying The Program: The purchasing process is started from the program itself, so you’ll need to have downloaded and installed the demo version first. Use the “Buy The Program” menu item, which appears at the upper left in the program menu after you install and run it, to start the purchasing process. You’ll need a major credit/debit card and an Internet connection to complete the purchase. The registration should remove the demo restrictions immediately, but if it doesn’t, exit the program and restart it. The price is $19.95, and all future upgrades are free.
